BIOSCREED – CIRCULAR SCREED
Circular screed that saves construction time – and binds CO2.
BioScreed is an alternative screed made from sawmill residues and a recyclable mineral binder. Competitive today, walkable after 24 hours – and can become an effective carbon sink in the building.
- walkable after 24 hours – low construction moisture
- EN 13813 / ÖNORM B 3732
- Δ 660 kg CO2e/m³ vs. cement screed
BioScreed at a glance
Improved CO2 efficiency, up to a carbon-sink effect
Stores ~1/3 tonne of CO2 per cubic metre.
Formulation
Sawmill residues + recyclable mineral binder.
Availability
Direct sales today – regional production planned in the medium term.
Principle
Historically proven materials, complemented by materials engineering expertise.
Getting construction flowing again

Construction process/time
Build on faster – less
schedule risk
Walkable 24 hours after installation, low construction moisture for rapid drying – especially helpful in existing buildings, refurbishment and timber construction.

Cost-effectiveness
Competitive today, a price advantage tomorrow
Costs are in line with cement screed; as CO₂ pricing rises, the sink performance creates additional value.

Living comfort/material quality
Warm underfoot & natural – more living comfort
BioScreed creates warm, pleasant surfaces underfoot and, as a natural building material, is designed for healthy living environments.

With BioScreed, we turn the floor from a CO₂ problem into a carbon sink – and show that circular construction is not only more sustainable, but also economically sound.

Developed for existing machinery and industrial processes – with brief onboarding instead of retraining.
- Supply form: bagged goods or silo delivery (D-A-CH)
- Installation: can be processed with standard market equipment
- Screeding/finishing: as easy as usual, easy to repair if needed
- Walkable: after 24 hours
- Covering/finish: compatible with common separation layers, insulation and floor coverings. ParaStruct also offers coverings made from BioMaterials.
ParaStruct is entering the market and provides the required quantities of BioScreed on a project-specific basis with standard industry lead times.
Let us discuss your project:
BioScreed is currently undergoing building approval and building-material listing in Austria. The General Building Authority Approval (ABZ) in Germany will follow, to be achieved by 2027 at the latest.
ParaStruct aims to obtain an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) as soon as possible in order to be approved for public procurement procedures as well. Would you like to learn more about the current status? Arrange a non-binding video call.
