Last week, our team had the opportunity to attend the BioChar Summit, and it proved to be a valuable few days of learning, networking, and showcasing what ParaStruct is building.

Kilian Rießbeck represented ParaStruct throughout the event, starting with the Focus Day dedicated to biochar in construction. The sessions offered a deep dive into how biochar is being integrated into building materials, and the discussions on this topic were genuinely thought-provoking, touching on everything from technical performance to scalability and regulatory hurdles.

The following two days, we exhibited at the main summit with our own booth, giving visitors a firsthand look at how ParaStruct’s solutions fit into the broader biochar ecosystem. Biochar as an industry is still in its early stages, but the momentum behind it is unmistakable. We met engineers, researchers, manufacturers, and investors who are all pushing the space forward in different ways, and that diversity made for some excellent conversations.

What stood out most was the level of interest in what we’re doing at ParaStruct. Conversations at our booth consistently turned into deeper discussions about practical applications, and we came away with a number of promising leads for future collaboration. In an industry this young, building the right partnerships early on matters, and the Summit gave us a great platform to do exactly that.

We’re grateful to the organizers for putting together such a well-run event, and to everyone who stopped by to talk biochar with us. We’re looking forward to following up on the connections made and continuing to contribute to this growing field.
